Dedicated education staff deliver curriculum based sessions for schools and workshops for groups of all ages (including pre-school) and abilities (special needs and gifted & talented), as well as lecture programmes, family activities and events.
The museum has a range of handling sets for reminiscence work and use in schools. Information about the themes covered by the loan boxes can be found on the ‘Schools & teachers’ page although they can be borrowed by any bona fide group leader or establishment, such as a nursing home.
During school holidays the museum always offers special events for families. Please go to the ‘Whats On’ section for further information. For downloadable activity trails for children please go to the ‘Families’ page.
Guided tours for schools, teachers and organized groups can be purchased. These may be delivered by education or curatorial staff.
Museum Education Officers are on site to help you plan and arrange visits, organise bookings for the education suite, facilitate guided tours and workshops, advise about our facilities and recommend resources.
