Shabtis What are they?
Clay figures that look like mini mummies are called ‘Shabtis’ this is Ancient Egyptian for ‘Answerer’.
They were placed in the tomb of the Ancient Egyptians. They had a special spell written on them.
The Ancient Egyptians believed they would magically come to life and be the servants of the owner of the tomb in the Afterlife.
Most tombs would have at least 365 Shabtis, one for each day of the year.
